Calibishie is a lovely little seaside fishing village with several grocery stores, small snackettes, restaurants and guest accommodation. The tourist accommodation ranges from traditional style guesthouses to houses and cottages equipped for long-term stays.
There are no large resort facilities or organized nightlife but you will find warm, friendly people willing to share their time and stories with you. On a weekday afternoon in the village you might encounter farmers unloading a fresh harvest of plaintain at the roadside weight station, or a group of schoolchildren in their brightly-colored uniforms.
On a Sunday you can join local residents at an outdoor church social held after the morning services. At night you might choose to enjoy your favorite beverage at a local "rum shop", where you might also encounter a lively game of dominoes.
The fishing co-operative is found at the "bayfront" at the far end of the village. Depending on the season you can buy red snapper, tuna, mahi mahi and lobster from the fishermen when they return from the sea.
