Further along you will pass over a bridge and come to a T-intersection with a bus shelter. Heading up to the right you will enter the village of Bense. A kilometer or so past the village a path to the left leads down a steep slope to the Chaudiere (Kettle) Falls. Once again it is good to ask for directions or have someone show you the way. Many of the rainforest plants have unusual uses and healing properties which a local guide can explain to you. One of the trees here produces a flammable gum that was used to light the charcoal fires. The falls themselves are crystal clear and cool with the pool below deep enough for diving. This is definitely worth spending time with an afternoon picnic, surrounded by birds, amazing greenery and the sound of rushing water to soothe you.
